I would have picked <em>spurious<\/em>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesaurus.com\/browse\/spurious\">but looking at the thesaurus<\/a>, it seems <em>fraudulent<\/em> is a bit closer in the meaning of &#8220;counterfeit, fake&#8221;.
