He is a frequent lecturer on what he calls the impending \u201ccollapse of copyright.\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n<h3>\u201cThe Darknet and the Future of Content Distribution.&#8221;, Peter Biddle, Paul England, Marcus Peinado und Bryan Willman<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/msl1.mit.edu\/ESD10\/docs\/darknet5.pdf\">Link.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Abstract: &#8220;We investigate the darknet \u00f1 a collection of networks and technologies<br \/>\nused to share digital content.\u00a0 The darknet is not a separate physical<br \/>\nnetwork but an application and protocol layer riding on existing<br \/>\nnetworks.\u00a0 Examples of darknets are peer-to-peer file sharing, CD and<br \/>\nDVD copying, and key or password sharing on email and newsgroups.<br \/>\nThe last few years have seen vast increases in the darknet\u00eds<br \/>\naggregate bandwidth, reliability, usability, size of shared library, and<br \/>\navailability of search engines.\u00a0 In this paper we categorize and analyze<br \/>\nexisting and future darknets, from both the technical and legal<br \/>\nperspectives.\u00a0 We speculate that there will be short-term impediments<br \/>\nto the effectiveness of the darknet as a distribution mechanism, but<br \/>\nultimately the darknet-genie will not be put back into the bottle.\u00a0 In view<br \/>\nof this hypothesis, we examine the relevance of content protection and<br \/>\ncontent distribution architectures.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;The Future of Copyright&#8221;, Rasmus Fleischer Link.
