In some cases, admirers of these criminals have gone on to marry the object of their affections in prison.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"cite_ref-1\"><\/a>Hybristophilia is accepted as potentially lethal, among other such paraphilias including, but not being limited to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Asphyxiophilia\">asphyxiophilia<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Autassassinophilia\">autassassinophilia<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Biastophilia\">biastophilia<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chremastistophilia\">chremastistophilia<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hybristophilia#cite_note-1\">[2]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"Examples\"><\/a>Examples<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><a name=\"cite_ref-2\"><\/a>The phenomenon of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Charles_Manson\">Charles Manson<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Columbine_High_School\">Columbine High School<\/a> shooters <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Eric_Harris_and_Dylan_Klebold\">Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold<\/a> groupies are also examples of hybristophilia.<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hybristophilia#cite_note-2\">[3]<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a name=\"cite_ref-3\"><\/a>One of the most infamous examples of hybristophilia is the large number of women attracted to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ted_Bundy\">Ted Bundy<\/a> after his arrest.<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hybristophilia#cite_note-3\">[4]<\/a> Bundy allegedly received hundreds of love letters from women while he was incarcerated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jeffrey_Dahmer\">Jeffrey Dahmer<\/a>, a serial killer, is said to have had amorous women sending him letters, money, and other gifts during his time in prison.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Serial killer <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Richard_Ramirez\">Richard Ramirez<\/a> married a female groupie in prison who had written him over 75 letters. I have frequently noticed this odd behavior of women, and cudnt think of any obvious evo psych explanation. Recent cases of this in Scandinavia are of (perhaps) <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Anders_Breivik\">Anders Breivik<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Peter_Lundin#Incarcerated_marriages\">Peter Lundin<\/a>. I havent seen any evidence for Breivik love yet, but i fully expect to see\/hear about it. The sexual preference for that behavior is variously called <strong>asphyxiophilia<\/strong>, <strong>autoerotic asphyxia<\/strong>, <strong>hypoxyphilia<\/strong>. Colloquially, a person engaging in the activity is sometimes called a <em>gasper<\/em>.
