Wikipedia even has renamed it to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tulsa_race_massacre\">&#8220;Tulsa race massacre&#8221;<\/a>. As pointed out, <a href=\"http:\/\/tcbmag.com\/news\/articles\/2020\/may\/protest-violence-destroys-30m-affordable-housing-project\">a single housing project that was burned cost 30M $<\/a>. OK, but does the number check out? I checked the source:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div class=\"gs_citr\" tabindex=\"0\">Tulsa Race Riot Commission. (2001). <a href=\"https:\/\/www.okhistory.org\/research\/forms\/freport.pdf\">Tulsa Race Riot: A Report by the Oklahoma Commission to Study the Tulsa Race Riot of 1921<\/a>. <i>Oklahoma House of Representatives, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma<\/i>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>which is an authoritative government sponsored report. So let&#8217;s use 1.6M as a good estimate, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.in2013dollars.com\/us\/inflation\/1921?amount=1.60\">this gives us in 2020 dollars<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/emilkirkegaard.dk\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/EZOLhEmXgAMiblB.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8765\" src=\"https:\/\/emilkirkegaard.dk\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/EZOLhEmXgAMiblB.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1565\" height=\"729\" srcset=\"https:\/\/emilkirkegaard.dk\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/EZOLhEmXgAMiblB.jpeg 1565w, https:\/\/emilkirkegaard.dk\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/EZOLhEmXgAMiblB-300x140.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/emilkirkegaard.dk\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/EZOLhEmXgAMiblB-1024x477.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/emilkirkegaard.dk\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/EZOLhEmXgAMiblB-768x358.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/emilkirkegaard.dk\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/EZOLhEmXgAMiblB-1536x715.jpeg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1565px) 100vw, 1565px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So a measly 23M dollars.
