Steve Sailer was there, Charles Murray, Phil Rushton, and others. Name was Human Biodiversity Group. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geocities.ws\/sailerfraud\/hbd.html\">Some hater even has a list of the members<\/a>. I want to bring attention to a specific conversation where Charles Murray tried to arrange an <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Adversarial_collaboration\">adversarial collaboration<\/a> to investigate race and intelligence. <a href=\"https:\/\/groups.yahoo.com\/neo\/groups\/evolutionary-psychology\/conversations\/messages\/38171\">The specific conversation was here<\/a>, and sadly no longer works because <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Yahoo!_Groups\">Yahoo Groups are defunct<\/a>, and apparently <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20160927120939\/https:\/\/groups.yahoo.com\/neo\/groups\/evolutionary-psychology\/conversations\/messages\/38171\">Wayback Machine does not have a proper archive<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.vn\/PJ7rz\">But Archive does have it<\/a>. Maybe I archived it. Here&#8217;s the text and <a href=\"https:\/\/emilkirkegaard.dk\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/hbd-group-charles-murray-2005.png\">an image backup<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>Charles Murray<\/div>\n<div>Sep 16, 2005<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Geneva;\">An interesting story that I think reveals volumes:<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Geneva;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Geneva;\">It is now possible using genetic markers to do much better than classify people as &#8220;black,&#8221; &#8220;white&#8221; or &#8220;Asian.&#8221; The method for doing so is implied in the studies using genetic markers, with the most recent being\u00a0Tang, H., et al. (2005). &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC1196372\/\">Genetic structure, self-identified race\/ethnicity, and confounding in case-control association studies<\/a>.&#8221; American Journal of Human Genetics, 76, 268\u2013275.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Geneva;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Geneva;\">The next step seems obvious:\u00a0t<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Geneva;\">ake a large sample of racially diverse people, give them a good IQ test, and then use genetic markers to create a variable that no longer classifies people as \u201cwhite\u201d or \u201cblack,\u201d but along a continuum. Analyze the variation in IQ scores according to that continuum. <\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Geneva;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Geneva;\">And so I emailed some scholars on both sides of the IQ\/race debate, suggesting that they jointly design and conduct such a study. I told them I would undertake to find someone to fund the study. It would be easy to find such a funder, but only if scholars from both sides were on board (otherwise, the funder would fear being called racist). I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;m betraying a confidence when I say that Jensen and Rushton were enthusiastically in favor. Those on the other side, whom I will not name, declined.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Geneva;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Geneva;\">So the racialists are raring to go, Mr. Naff. Are you willing to join up?<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Geneva;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Geneva;\">Charles Murray\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div>I emailed Charles in 2019 to ask if he recalled anything about this.
