Substack 1st anniversary, statistics, reader survey, and a new video

My Substack is growing a lot faster than I anticipated, and we’ve hit 2000 2100. It took about one year, as my first post was 11th October 2021:

Paid subscribers also sees a nice growth:

I do not usually beg in my posts, as this is very cringe behavior. Nevertheless, hopefully the above has shamed you into also wanting to support more studies and blogposts about monkey’s balls in hot water. If so, then consider making a donation in some way other another:

This blog content will never be paywalled, there won’t be any extra secret content for payers. More money allows me to hire more people to get science done, buy more datasets, and so on.

That said, let’s now turn to the main new thing. Long time bloggers now that it is good to know your audience, and what better way than to survey them. Popular writers like Aellagirl, Richard Hanania (part 1, 2, 3), Scott Alexander, and Razib Khan have reader surveys. The response rate is typically about 10%, so given my 2000ish readers (?), we should get about 200 people.
