Leftist women were the most intolerant, an expected result. However, is this due to their ideology and sex, or something else, say, where they live or being young? I decided to download the dataset and have a look. Here’s my results:
Details:
- The outcome is yes/no answer to the question in the title.
- Logistic models. A full model (in red) and a model for each predictor alone (in turquoise).
- n = 1004
Holding other factors constant and ignoring multiple testing, we see that the predictors of being intolerant are: being female, ideologically liberal or very liberal, and highly educated. The survey is too small to try anything more specific. Arguably I controlled for too many things and reduced precision too much. If we simplify it, we get this:
Nothing really changed though. White race does not predict blocking before or after covariates are added. The most intolerant remains highly educated, highly liberal women.
